We've been living in this weird new world for almost 6 months. While COVID-19 restrictions are more or less lax depending on where you live, your life is surely a little different than it was last year.
While some of you might be adjusting well to this new life, others of you might be struggling. Maybe it's been difficult to get into a routine, you've been lonely or you're just plain bored. Whatever the case may be, you shouldn't feel bad about feeling out of whack. No one has had practice living through a pandemic, so we're all trying to navigate this new normal in the best way we can.
To help you through this crazy time, I have compiled a list of four activities that can help boost your physical and mental health.
1. Exercise
Did you know that exercising releases endorphins into your body, which can help relieve anxiety and depression? Next time you are feeling overwhelmed, try going for a walk or jog to clear your head and to get those endorphins going.
2. Meditation
Meditation might not be for everyone, but it is proven to reduce stress and increase mindfulness and focus. If you are feeling up to it, try following a meditation exercise on Youtube or try some deep breathing exercises.
3. Journaling
Sometimes, getting your thoughts out of your mind and onto paper is all your need to clear your head. Next time you are feeling overwhelmed, try picking up a pen and paper and do a little self-reflection.
4. Good Sleep
Getting enough sleep is easier said than done, but it can do wonders for both your physical and mental health. Getting 7-10 hours of sleep can help boost both your immune system and your mood.
